My name is Monika Abdalla. I first became involved in Cedar Park as a parent, then as a volunteer, then as a substitute teacher. My experiences at the school allowed me to see God’s presence within the students and staff. I was so amazed and comforted by what I saw that I wanted to be a part of it. This year I will have the privilege to teach math in my eighth year teaching at CP. I have said for many years that I consider this school to be an environment that is spiritually, emotionally, and academically healthy. I am so thankful that God has allowed me to a part of it.
After successfully working in the business world for a number of years I felt a lack of purpose and felt God calling me to return to school. I earned my Masters in Teaching with the goal of teaching at Cedar Park because I considered it blessed. I continued to earn my Professional Teacher Certification and continued on to earn a Math Endorsement.
God has abundantly blessed me. My husband Paul and I have three treasured gifts; our two oldest sons are graduates of Cedar Park and our youngest son will be a CP graduate in 2017. My interests include family and friends, reading, nutrition, and running.
"I believe that EVERY student is created for God’s purpose. God’s grace is for EVERY student. My prayer is that God can us ME to accomplish His plan."

Hi, I’m Natalie Anderson, and I teach the preschool 3’s and 4’s class. A little about myself… Originally I am from Colorado, but Washington has been my home for almost twenty years. I graduated for Northwest University with a BA in Elementary Education with a 4th-12th grade psychology endorsement. Immediately after graduating, I took a 2nd grade teaching position at Northshore Christian Academy where I continued for six years. During this time I met my husband Troy, and this past August we celebrated our 10 year anniversary. Following the six years of teaching 2nd grade, I took six years off to stay at home with our daughter (now 12 going into 7th grade) and our son (10 going into 5th grade). I believe God opened the door for me to be able to teach at Cedar Park in 2011, and I am so delighted to be part of the preschool team!
It is exciting for me to be the preschool students first teacher. To be able to instill in them Biblical values such as prayer. I love teaching the students to pray during circle time, to have them pray a blessing over their food, and to pray for each other if someone gets an owie. It is also my heart to make the stories we learn during Bible time apply to their little preschool world. Where they can learn that they can “do all things through Christ who gives them their strength” (Philippians 4:13) just like in the story of David and Goliath.
It feel so very blessed to be able to teach preschool. Everything about school is so new and exciting to a preschooler. I love that it is never a dull movement! Their minds are constantly learning, absorbing every detail, and you never know what they may say or do!

Cedar Park Christian Schools has been home to me for many years. In 1995, my family moved to the Seattle area. I attended CPCS and became one of the first graduating students in the class of 1997. Christian education is very important to me. I firmly believe in Christian teachers training children in our own Christian community. I was blessed to have a family that sacrificed to put my brothers and sister through Christian education. Each of us attended Christian schools and furthered our education at Christian Universities.
I graduated from Northwest University in 2014 with my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and The Humanities. Then I continued my education at Northwest University and received my Master in Teaching Degree in 2015.
I am married to the best husband in the world, Josh Balthis. Together we have 6 children currently living at home. Four of our children presently attend CPCS. We feel so blessed to have our children in a Christian community that partners with us in training our children to have a Biblical worldview. The teachers care about our children and speak into their lives.
Some of my favorite things are: spending time with my family (whether that is spending time outdoors together or snuggled at home watching a movie), collecting children’s books, decorating, and crafts.
I love my 2nd grade team, Mrs. Karla Born and Cami Nagel. They are the best team of teachers I could be blessed to partner with. We work together great and inspire and support each other.
It is exciting to be a small part of God’s great plan here at Cedar Park Christian Schools! Please stop by anytime and introduce yourself.

Hello my name is Melissa Barr and I love teaching Kindergarten here at Cedar Park Christian School. My husband Steve and I have been happily married for over nineteen years and when our first two children started school this is where we wanted them. They are now in high school and their younger brother and sister have joined them here at Cedar Park Christian School and we are so amazed at the education that they have received, not just academically but also spiritually. So when I received a call to teach Kindergarten here in 2010 it was an easy decision to come teach here.
I attended Northwest University from 1985-1989 and graduated with a major in both Christian Education and Biblical Literature. I love learning and enjoy laying a foundation for children. The Bible tells us that a strong foundation lasts but or poor foundation is eroded away. My desire and vision is to lay a strong academic foundation for my Kindergarteners, in every subject area, while putting God’s fingerprint on their hearts, minds, souls and spirits. I am passionate about helping children to see who they are in Jesus and that He has created them with a special purpose and destiny in mind. We begin the journey to discover what that purpose is in Kindergarten and then send them on to the amazing teachers at each level to build on that foundation.
It is amazing every year to see my student’s learn to praise and worship God and to watch them discover how pleased God is when we say thank you to him and realize all the ways that he provides for and blesses each of us, and to see children make this discovery and then talk to God and express their love, adoration and thankfulness is truly amazing. I love to see how these simple truth’s about our amazing Savior translate into transforming my Kindergarteners into faith filled confident disciples…I love being a part of building a strong foundation of faith in my students.
This year I am so excited to partner with the parents of my Kindergarten students to build a strong reading and writing foundation in my student’s lives. We will be doing lots of reading and discovering vocabulary and taking what we are learning and applying it to our writer’s workshop. We will write and edit stories and then revise them and with the help of parents, we will publish them and illustrate them and then share them with our peers. I pray that you will stop by sometime and check out all the amazing things that happen in Kindergarten here at Cedar Park Christian School!

My name is Grant Benzel. I am the middle and high school PE teacher here at Cedar Park Christian School. I am a graduate of Pacific Lutheran University where I earned a bachelor’s degree in outdoor education and a minor in PE and Coaching.
I have been blessed to have taught at Cedar Park Christian School since 2008. God’s call to teach in a Christian school is so amazing and rewarding. It is so great to be able to worship God on a daily basis and teach the truth about God’s word through different interactions and conversations with students. I love building relationships with students at CPC and earning the right to share what Christ can do in their lives through my experiences.
The other passion I have here at Cedar Park Christian besides teaching is coaching. I have coached here at CPC since 2006. I am currently the head cross country coach and an assistant track coach coaching the throwing events. Athletics is a great parallel to a relationship with Jesus and is a great way to bring the gospel into different situations, whether you win or lose. God has blessed our sports ministry and I can’t wait to see what God will do each year through our sports teams.
I believe that Cedar Park Christian School offers families a safe environment of learning for all levels. All of the teachers are called by God to be teaching here at CPC so you know that their passion for their subjects and connection to each student is genuine and consistent every day.
I am so blessed to share the passion of teaching with my wife Gretchen Benzel. She currently teaches in the elementary school on the Bothell campus. She also started the elementary after school Spanish program. She is my best friend who supports my passions of teaching and coaching. She is so amazing to be able to share me with my high school athletes.
I look forward to meeting you. Feel free to email me if you have any questions.

My love is teaching children in a Christian setting where they can learn about the Lord Jesus Christ and make Him their best friend. Drama, picture books, and puppet shows are just a few fun ways I enjoy to teach and communicate truths and educational material. My family is a “teaching family”. My mom has taught for 70 years. I have taught for 38 years, and now my daughter is beginning this year teaching first grade. My husband is a computer programmer and enjoys helping me also. Feel free to contact me anytime. I love working with people.

My name is Kristina Brown. I started teaching at Cedar Park Christian in 2015. I teach levels one, two and three of high school Spanish. This is my 14th year of teaching.
As a graduate of Calvin College I took the opportunity to study foreign language abroad in Spain and Mexico. There I earned a bachelor’s degree in Education with an emphasis in Spanish and Bilingual Education.
Later I earned my master’s degree in Education from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. There I learned how to integrate the arts in learning and curriculum and instruction design.
I am especially excited about teaching students on how to handle the WORD of God in Spanish. Teaming with parents and staff members I look forward to cultivating students to become more deeply rooted in Christ and encouraging them to grow in Christ’struth, love, forgiveness and grace.
I think students will look forward to our Spanish personal application projects, skits, singing songs that they can implement immediately in missions and of course the times we participate in sampling a of Latin American cuisine inside and outside the classroom.
My own children started attending Cedar Park Christian in 2012. Moving our children to Cedar Park is one decision we know was in obedience to God. Many blessings have come to fruition since made a commitment to Cedar Park Christian. We are so grateful for this staff that has partnered with my husband and I in bringing up our children in the way they should go. The academic level is rigorous for our children. They are hearing and gleaning from God’s WORD and learning to be good ambassadors for Christ. On a social level our kids have made the type of relationship that I think they will cherish for a lifetime.

Chelsea is the second youngest of 5 children (6, if you include the Great Dane) and grew up in Renton, Washington. She cultivated a love of performing and leadership through involvement in Choir, Art, Drama, and Track and Field while at Renton High School. Chelsea has performed in the Seattle area with various groups. She has been in Fat Chance! Opera and SPU’s opera workshop programs, where she performed scenes from the operas Madama Butterfly (as Butterfly), Suor Angelica (As Angelica), Die Fledermaus (as Rosalinde), The Magic Flute (as the Third Lady), The Marriage of Figaro (as Susanna), Arabella (as Arabella), Der Rosenkavalier (as Octavian), and Lakme` (As Lakme`). She has also performed in numerous Master Classes and Recitals, presenting works from the composers Mahler, Richard Strauss, Bernstein, Berlioz, Puccini, Faure, Brahms, Gershwin, Verdi, and Mozart.
Despite her love of digging into roles, unearthing the layers of art songs and building her vocal performance repertoire, Chelsea’s real love is teaching. She has been blessed to be placed by God at Cedar Park where she can kindle a love and appreciation for vocal art and dramatic expression to students from 7th through 12th grades. She believes that music was given to man as a bridge to Heaven, and that it is our calling as Christians to spread God’s wonder and love through song.

I started teaching at Cedar Park in the fall of 2015. I have a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Education from Peru. I taught high school Biology and Chemistry for several years and served as a campus minister with the student movement similar to InterVarsity before coming to the States.
It is a pleasure and privilege to be a part of the Cedar Park community. Teaching here allows me to share information and knowledge from a Christian worldview and model biblical values and principles to the students. I desire to work with the staff, parents and students to ensure a safe and engaging learning environment.
My wife Pam and I are parents of two adorable daughters, Abigail and Samantha. When I’m not spending time with family, I enjoy watching and playing soccer, keeping a pulse on the news, traveling and serving at church.

My name is Lija Devine, I have been teaching at Cedar Park Christian School since 2006. I graduated from Western Governors University with a Bachelors degree in Elementary Education K – 8th grade. I also have a Child Development Associate Certificate.
I have been married since 1993 to my husband Jon. We have two children Brent and Hayley. Brent started at Cedar Park in preschool back in 2001 and Hayley started in 2005. I feel our family was lead here to Cedar Park and we have had one amazing year after another. I loved the school so much that it inspired me to go back to school to finish up my teaching degree so that I could teach at Cedar Park. After seeing all the amazing teachers here I knew I wanted to be one as well. I wanted to be the one that was making a difference in children’s lives. I have always treated the children in my class like they were my own kids. I would ask myself how would I want my kids to be treated and what would I want my kid’s teachers to be like. That is how I feel I teach in the classroom. To be in a place where not only can you pray but are encouraged to do so is such a great feeling. I am truly a changed life changing lives.

“Do everything in love.” – 1 Corinthians 16:14
Hi! My name is Cynthia Ewanchuk. I’ve been blessed to teach at CPCS since 2012. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to share my love of art and graphic design with your child.
I have the best job in the world! I absolutely love working with children. Each day I am excited and can’t wait to create art with my students. I give 100% effort into every class and expect no less from my students.
I was born and raised in Vancouver, BC, and completed my early education in Canada. I earned a graphic design and marketing management diploma in Canada, a Bachelors of Arts Degree, majoring in Psychology, and a Masters in Teaching (M.i.T) from City University of Seattle. Since 1998, I have been teaching in some capacity or another, from having my own class, volunteering, mentoring, and tutoring. I have worked in both public and private schools.
Each day is an adventure that I share with my family; my husband Brian; who has made me smile every day since we were married in 1995 and our two delightful children, Izabel and Jake. We came to Cedar Park in 2011.
Since 2011, I have implemented and coordinated the Elementary Art Docent Program at Cedar Park (K-6th). The art docent program is taught and organized by parent volunteers. Art Docent is a student art curriculum that strives to expose the students to a variety of artists throughout history, art techniques, art elements and principles, and art mediums throughout the year.

Although I’m originally from Kentucky, I have lived on the west coast for the past twenty five years. Since becoming widowed four years ago, I now, happily, reside in Mill Creek with my daughter, son-in-law, and my three grandchildren. Since moving here, I have tutored all ages at Huntington Learning Center in Bothell. Before that, my past experience has included: Middle, Secondary, and Community College instruction in both public and private sectors. Since 1971, I have taught and have acquired a B.S. and M.A. degree.
I’m so excited to return to a Christian environment to serve here at Cedar Park. I look forward to see what good things God has planned.

Hello! My name is Amy Hawkins. I have been teaching at Cedar Park since 2014. I was born and raised in Bellevue, Washington to a loving Christian family. From the time that I was a very young child, I knew that I wanted to be a teacher. Through high school, God provided many opportunities, such as working in church ministries and interning at local schools, in which I was able to practice teaching. These opportunities allowed me to have the assurance that being a teacher was God’s will for my life and I was able to learn skills that prepared me for my future. After graduating with my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Heartland Baptist Bible College, I taught for four years at a small Christian school in Washington. During my four years there, I taught 3rd-7th grades, and grew tremendously in my teaching abilities and in confidence. During that time, I also enrolled at Liberty University Online, and am currently finishing up the requirements for my Master’s Degree in Elementary Teaching. Teaching 5th grade at Cedar Park is an answer to prayer as I have also known about this school and hoped to teach here since I was in high school. In many ways, through people I knew that attended and worked here, I saw Cedar Park function as a family and a community. Cedar Park cares about their students and staff and God is unapologetically at the center of everything that is done here. 5th grade is so fun to teach. I love creating a community in our classroom as well as working with students on projects that really reflect their personality. I am thankful that God has given me to opportunity to impact the lives of the amazing students and families here at Cedar Park.

Hi, my name is Renee Johnson. I was born in Indiana, and have lived all over the U.S., but have made Washington my home for the past 17 years. I have been blessed to be a part of the Cedar Park team for over 3 years teaching preschool 3’s and 4’s and working in our wonderful childcare department. I received my BS in Pre-therapy, minoring in Psychology, from Oregon State University…don’t worry, I like watching the Huskies (it’s the Duck fans I like to have fun withJ)!
I married my wonderful husband Aaron in 2003, bringing his two fantastic children into my life, Lauren now 21 and a successful hair and makeup stylist, and Hayden now 18 (graduating from Marine boot camp as we speak)! We decided to add a little more fun and craziness to the family, and welcomed our daughter Corinn in 2010, now a proud Cedar Park 1st grader! Needless to say, we’ve gone through a lot, and have had God’s grace and support all the way!
It is my heart’s desire to pair with you in teaching your children on this wonderful journey that awaits them here at Cedar Park. It is so incredible to be with them in the beginning and watch their development soar in this crucial time here in preschool. It always amazes me how truly gifted they are and that God certainly has a plan for each and every one of them!

Greetings from LaWonna Kerr! I am glad you have chosen Cedar Park Christian School for the education of your child. Our school works very hard to create an atmosphere in which our students can grow academically, socially, and spiritually. I began teaching at Cedar Park in 2004 and I am currently blessed to be teaching fourth grade! I love my work! I have the opportunity to encounter interesting, creative, and hard working young people each and every day! I love the energy of learning we create together in the classroom. I grew up in eastern Montana where my father was a minister. I was blessed to have a very thorough training in the scriptures as I attended church three times a week. I didn’t always see it as a blessing when I was young but I am so grateful now for the scriptures that were planted in my mind at a young age. This experience motivates my passion for the memorization of God’s Word. In my classroom we begin our day with the study of the Bible. I believe that when we honor God in this way, He helps us complete more tasks in each day. I completed my BA in English and earned my Washington State Teaching Certificate at the University of Washington. Recently, I completed my Professional Certification through Northwest University. I have two children who have both graduated from Cedar Park Christian and they are enjoying collegiate success because of the excellent academic preparation they received. My husband and I have appreciated the moral excellence that is nurtured at Cedar Park. I believe there is no greater gift I can give my children than a firm foundation in God’s truth to help them succeed in whatever the future holds for them. I feel so lucky to be a teacher because it does not feel like work! I love coming to school and finding multiple ways to teach concepts to all learning styles. My goal is for my students to love school as much as I do. One student described me as “tricky.” “I thought we were playing games all day but I was really learning!” I consider this one of my highest compliments! God Bless You!

Growing up as a book worm, it only seems appropriate that I would become a language teacher. As a kid I would bring home stacks of books from the library to read, many of which were biographies of great men and women. Today I try to encourage a generation of students raised in a world of technology to appreciate the value and importance of reading and communicating through the written word. My journey to this point took me to Seattle Pacific University and Fuller Theological Seminary. The journey also included teaching in the Dominican Republic and serving as a pastor for 15 years. It is a great privilege to bring my experiences and interests to my teaching here at Cedar Park. God has uniquely prepared me to work with middle school students, and I am blessed to be a part of this learning community.

I am a first year Athletic Director and teacher here at Cedar Park. My undergraduate degree is from Seattle Pacific University and I received my Master of Divinity from George Fox Evangelical Seminary. I am teaching one section of Strength Training in addition to my administrator duties.
My family is beginning our SIXTH year as part of the Cedar Park Christian School community and we mark the decision for our children to attend CPC as the best family decision we’ve ever made. I love Cedar Park for the community… for extraordinary care that teachers have for students… for the strong Christian values that are woven into the everyday fabric of this place… and for the excellence and high standards that are pursued in academics, athletics, and each facet of school life.
I pray each student will be challenged and experience tremendous growth emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually in their time here at CPC!’

Hello, my name is Carolyn Mahrer and I’ve been teaching second grade at Cedar Park since Spring, 2012. My husband Tom and I have two boys, Samuel and James who are also students here. It’s been fantastic being both a teacher and a parent because I get to see behind the scenes. I am so impressed with the high caliber of teachers we have at our school. As a parent I feel such peace of mind in knowing that my boys are getting the best possible education – academically as well as in developing strong Christian character. Prior to becoming a teacher, I earned my undergraduate degree from Washington State University in Social Sciences. I then worked in marketing communications for a few years and then as a stay-at-home-mom. Once our boys were old enough to attend school, I began volunteering in their classrooms. I absolutely loved this and found myself looking forward to it each week. After much prayer and consideration, I realized that I had found my calling and decided to go back to school so that I could become an elementary school teacher. In April of 2012, I earned my Masters of Arts in Teaching from George Fox University. I also have my Washington State teaching certificate. One of the things I enjoy most about teaching second grade at Cedar Park is being able to spend so much time with my students throughout the day. Having a small class allows me to really get to know each child – their personality and learning style, so that I can best meet their individual needs.
My name is Dawn Mar. I came to Cedar Park Christian School in 2010 as an assistant Varsity track coach at the Mountlake Terrace Campus and started teaching summer school in 2012. I will be teaching high school math, Algebra 2A and Algebra 3/Trig. I look forward to teaching your child and helping them to grow in their mathematical knowledge.
Cedar Park Background: This will also be my third year coaching the Varsity Cheer squad at the Mountlake Terrace Campus and my second year as head coach of the Varsity Track team. I have loved working with high school students the past few years and look forward to encouraging them in their faith and also their mathematical abilities.
Educational Background: I graduated from Snohomish County Christian School, which is now the Mountlake Terrace Campus. I continued my education at Seattle Pacific University and graduated with my Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics with a minor in Sociology.
I became a teacher because I wanted to share the experience that I had at a Christian school with other students. I enjoyed my time at a Christian high school and Christian college not only because of the small community, but also because I felt each teacher truly cared about my success and faith.
Cedar Park Christian is a great place to send your child because the teachers care about each of their students. We are able to encourage them in their walk with Christ and be there when they need a helping hand.

Hello, my name is Glynis Morris. I am married to my wonderful husband Brad and we have 4 children who all attend Cedar Park. I started teaching at Cedar Park in 2013 and am thrilled to be exclusively teaching student services.
I earned my Elementary Education Degree from Whitworth University with a minor in Religion and an endorsement in special education. I also have a Master’s Degree from Lesley University in Creative Arts in Education. I have enjoyed teaching seminars for teachers through the Bureau of Educational Research and writing curriculum for several schools. I have taught Preschool thru 2nd grade.
My first passion in teaching is helping children grow in the Lord. I pray they will more fully understand how much God loves them and the sacrifice He made for them. My second passion is teaching children to read. I love watching children get excited as their skills grow.
I enjoy building relationships and community with the children in my class and their families. I look forward to getting to know my students better. God has blessed me in so many ways and one great blessing He has given me is allowing me to teach at Cedar Park!

Hello, my name is Camilla Nagel. I originally taught here at Cedar Park from 2000-2005. I then stayed home with my children for 8 years! When I decided to return to teaching, I knew there was no other place I wanted to be other than back at Cedar Park Christian School! Since the fall of 2013, I have returned and I love teaching second grade.
Before I began teaching I earned my Bachelor’s Degree from Northwest University. I married my college sweetheart and we have two children, ages 8 and 5, who both attend Cedar Park. I am blessed to have the perspective of both a parent, and a teacher at this wonderful school. I look forward to coming to work every day, and I am so thankful for a God-centered place to teach and for my children to attend.
Second grade is full of fun! We are looking forward to field trips this year to the Pacific Science Center and the Seattle Aquarium. We also have a special Thanksgiving play and feast to share with our families. We love to learn, grow, and build Christian character as we spend time in the Word of God each day.

I began teaching at Cedar Park when what is now the high school campus was Bill’s Dairy. I remember the look on my students’ faces when the wind would turn and the “essence of cow” would invade our classroom in the church building! How things have changed since then! I have had the opportunity to watch Cedar Park grow from a school of less than 300 students to the incredible institution it is today–all because of the blessings of God. When I earned my BA in English from the University of Washington, I knew I had a passion for my subject, but did not know how this passion could merge with my passion to follow God. I taught for several years in Maine, and although I enjoyed the experience, there was something missing. Teaching at Cedar Park is truly the fullfillment of my desire to be in an environment where I can use my passion for my subject to inspire students spiritually as well as academically. I am so blessed to work with other staff members who love God, love their families, and love their students. A community of believers who follow in the footsteps of Jesus can accomplish much!

Hello, world. My name is David Shin. I have been a teacher at Cedar Park since 2013 (yes, that makes me a newbie!).
Born and raised in Southern California, my family and I moved to the Bellevue/Eastside area in 2000. It was after the move when I became involved in serving children. I have provided support to children and their families by working in children’s ministry, an after-school daycare center, summer day camp, and teaching English in Korea for one year.
In 2012, I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from City University of Seattle. While attending, I conducted a six-month Student Teaching experience at Renton School District. Prior to being hired at Cedar Park, I served for two years as a program facilitator and life skills instructor for young adults with physical and developmental disabilities.
It is my conviction that the Lord has led me here to Cedar Park to serve students, families, and communities, and to grow in my relationship with Him and other people. It is rewarding to be able to challenge students to grow in their academics, creativity, critical thinking, curiosity, and character. It is humbling to know that these students challenge me in those same areas.

I have been at Cedar Park Christian teaching first grade since 2015. I have earned a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education at Northwest University. I am a proud NU Eagles fan as well as a CPC Eagle!
When I am not at school I can be found biking, gardening, kayaking, or enjoying a good book at home with my cat.
In first grade we become masters in the foundational learning skills. It is my joy to help students learn to read because soon they will be reading to learn. I am surrounded by spectacular people and an encouraging first grade team. It has been a blessing to me to be a part of this wonderful family.

My name is AJ Stedford. I currently teach Chemistry and Anatomy/Physiology. I am also the head of the science department, an assistant coach for our baseball team and an advisor for the junior class.
I graduated from Grove City College (PA) in 2005 with a Bachelor of Science in biology and a minor in religion. GCC is one of the top ranked Christian colleges in the nation and helped give me a strong foundation in my faith and education. Post-graduation God called me to the teaching profession and gave me the opportunity to teach science courses at an inner-city Dallas high school. In 2011 God then brought my wife and I to the Seattle area and placed me here at Cedar Park Christian School. I am thrilled to be here as I have never seen a high school with such a great vision and foundation in Christ.
My wife, Lindsay, and I have been married since October 2005 and both have a passion for Christ and our church, education, sports (baseball in particular), food, and traveling, among many other things. We were blessed with our daughter Rayleigh in December 2011 and then our son Barrett in June 2014.
I look forward to seeing what else God has in store! Please contact me if you would like any more information or have any questions.

I began teaching at Cedar Park in the fall of 2009. Prior to that, I attended the University of Washington for my undergraduate studies and played on the baseball team for four years. I finished at Washington with double major in History and Political Science. That same year I enrolled in the Master’s in Teaching Program at Northwest University where I received my Master’s degree and teacher’s certification in Secondary Social Studies.
I love teaching social studies at the high school level. The opportunity to interact with and challenge students in the way that they think about the past and present events of this world is both exciting and rewarding. I think teaching social studies effectively is more important to the future of our nation than it has ever been.
Mostly, I am extremely thankful that God has brought me to Cedar Park. Cedar Park allows me the opportunity to teach unlike any other school I have been a part of. I come to school every day with the chance to not only interact with my faith in the classroom, but be encouraged by the amazing staff and students at this school. I am truly honored to teach here at Cedar Park and look forward to what God has in store for us this year.

Hi! I am Jolie Wall. I have been blessed to teach 3rd grade at Cedar Park since 2006. I have loved teaching with a team of Christian people who feel like family.
I grew up in a strong Christian home in Longview Washington. I attended public school, private school, and was home schooled for a short while and understand the importance of a strong Christian education. After I graduated I attended Northwest University where I received my BA in teaching and have done post graduate work at Seattle Pacific University.
The thing I love about teaching is seeing the growth and progress my students make in both their academics as well as in their relationship with Jesus Christ. I love to see the light blub moment in students when they finally grasp a concept that they have worked so hard on.
I love to have fun and be silly with my class as we are exploring God’s many creations and developing who they are as individuals. As an educator my goal is to help students strive to do their best and challenge them as they become independent learners.
I am looking forward to spending the year with your student growing together in God’s love and experiencing the blessings that he has in store for us as we explore the world he created.

Hi! My name is Lenore Wierenga. I’ve been blessed to teach 4th grade at Cedar Park since 2003.
I was born and raised in Sunnyside, Washington. As the child of two Christian schoolteachers, the importance of Christian education was instilled in me at an early age. I had the privilege of attending Christian schools from Kindergarten on up through college. I graduated from George Fox University in 1997 with a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education. I also have a Master’s degree in Elementary Reading and Literacy.
I love teaching 4th grade because children at this age are so eager to learn! It’s exciting to help them discover how God’s fingerprint can be found on everything we study. My students enjoy having fun, but they also enjoy being challenged to work hard and do their best. My passion as an educator is to glorify God through excellence in teaching. Each child in my class comes with unique God-given gifts that I strive to nurture. I want my students to leave my class with a deeper relationship with Christ, a love for learning, and the knowledge that each one is a valuable child of God.

I have been at Cedar Park since 2006 and am so blessed to be here!
A little bit about myself…I earned my undergraduate degree at George Fox University and my master’s degree at Washington State University (sorry Husky fans!). I have a current Washington State teaching license.
Before I came to Cedar Park I had been an early education administrator at a large Christian school in Portland for seven years. Prior to that, I taught for a number of years.
I was humbled and blessed to receive the Preschool/Elementary Teacher of the Year award here at Cedar Park in 2010!
My love and passion is Christian education and teaching preschoolers! Preschoolers have such a great faith in God and are so excited to learn!
My husband, who also teaches at Cedar Park, and I attend Cedar Park Church where I also teach preschoolers and was the early education/Treehouse Kids director!
We are also the directors of Royal Family Kids’ Camp, a camp for abused and neglected foster children, sponsored by Cedar Park Church.
We are so blessed to be serving the Lord here at Cedar Park!

My name is Scott Winter. Welcome to my webpage. I am most richly blessed to have been called by God to teach here at Cedar Park Christian School. I am now in my 7th year teaching 8th Grade U.S. History as well as 8th Grade Science and 9th Grade Pacific Northwest History. My wife Carolyn is also serving here as a preschool teacher. Together the Lord has clearly used us and continues to use us to build His kingdom. In addition to teaching, I also coach Middle School boys Soccer and Middle School Track. During the summer my wife and I are the co-directors of Royal Family Kids Camp Bothell, a camp for abused and neglected foster children.
Prior to teaching I was honored to serve in the United States Navy for over 21 years. My last duty station was Everett, Washington where I retired as a Sonar Technician 1st Class (Surface Warfare) and Navy Instructor in 2004. I have served quite literally around the world personally visiting over 34 countries and 47 states.
Upon retirement from the Navy I earned my Bachelor of Science with a History focus from Excelsior College of New York. While substitute teaching in Tigard, Oregon I finished my Master of Arts in Teaching from Western Governors University. I then began teaching at Cedar Park Christian.
My hobbies include visiting historical sites throughout the country, museums, reading non-fiction history books, photography, shooting, fishing, ice-hockey, and spending time with my beautiful bride. My wife and I are both humbled and blessed to be serving here at Cedar Park Christian School.

I teach Chinese, Mathematics, and Technology at CPCS Bothell. I was born in Taiwan. When I was 14, I moved to the United States (Washington D.C.) with my parents and younger brother. I moved to Seattle when I was a senior in high school. I attended the University of Washington and obtained a degree in Chemical Engineering and a degree in Economics. I also have a certification in Medical Informatics. Most of my professional career had been in the technology and business education fields.
My family has been involved with Cedar Park Christian Schools for more than ten (10) years now. As a parent, I have always loved the strong academics and the nurturing environment here at the school. I can see the glory of Christ shown through everyone working here, from the teachers, to the administrators, to the coaches, and even to the maintenance and janitorial staff. When God called me to work here, I humbly and excitedly said “YES”. It’s been such a blessing for me to be able to partner with parents to educate their children here at Cedar Park, the nation’s top Christian school. Not only do we provide a strong academic education, more importantly we are able to love on these students and see students grow into Godly warriors.

2013 is my 35th year teaching, and my 15th year at Cedar Park Christian. I am the Yearbook Advisor, and I also teach Algebra and a creation-based Geology class for which I have written the curriculum. Some years I am also privileged to teach Bible.
I have never found it difficult to integrate Scriptural truth into math classes. Not only does the order in the universe point to God, but the need in the heart of man to understand and master the world around him, find ways to solve problems, and overcome adversity points to the truth that we are made in God’s image. Mathematics not only resonates with the image of God in young people but also provides a wonderful platform for growth of many areas of Christian character.
I especially love my Geology class because in a world where the Bible is under constant attack, this class is so effective in answering difficult questions and dissolving the doubt that has crept into many students’ hearts about the reliability of Scripture. The more I have studied, the more entrenched and solidified has become my confidence that the Flood happened and the Genesis account is true. Jesus said if men failed to praise Him, the rocks would cry out. For me, this verse has come to be a statement of the undeniable record of the Global Flood, written on the stratigraphy of this planet.
I love watching doubt about the reliability of Scripture disappear from the minds of my students. I love seeing them gain a confident base from which to defend their faith against the onslaught of unbelief in the world around them. And I am grateful to the Lord for an opportunity share with the next generations growing up the reasons for my faith and confidence in God and His Word.
