Mrs. Kerr Wins Teacher of the Year by Ivars

Posted on June 13, 2019

Our congratulations go out to CPCS 4th grade teacher, Mrs. LaWonna Kerr. She was honored in elementary chapel this morning by Ivar's Restaurants as Ivar's "Teacher of the Year" for 2019.

Mrs. Kerr was nominated by CPC 5th grade student, Ashley Uusitalo. Ivar's held an essay contest that several hundred students participated in. Ashley's essay was chosen as the grand prize winner! Ashley's essay mentioned Mrs. Kerr's creative teaching style that always makes learning fun. Mrs. Kerr gives opportunity for students to challenge themselves to excel, and always takes the time to express care and concern for her students by stopping to listen and be a true friend.

Mrs. Kerr received a $500.00 check from Ivar's for classroom supplies! She was interviewed by a local TV station, Q13 Fox News.

We are blessed to have Mrs. Kerr at CPC!
